Terms of Motorcycle Rental
With this rental agreement, Motorbike Rent, which will be called "Lessor" for the sake of brevity, rents the "Motorcycle" to the signatory "Lessee" which is stated in the contract in excellent condition. The lessee carefully checks the "Motorcycle" and after finding it to his absolute liking, he unreservedly accepts to use it exclusively for his private purpose and for the duration agreed, in Greece.
Rental: The Motorcycle rental rate and period of rental time has been agreed and is considered fair and appropriate and thus paid in advance by the lessee. All prices are subject to VAT, as determined by the state which currently amounts to 24%.
Method of payment: The rental of the motorcycle is paid in cash, by deposit to a bank account or by credit card Visa or Mastercard.
Driver’s license: The lessee must have a European or international driver’s license permit which is valid and has been issued in the country of his or her residence for at least one year prior to the date of this rental agreement. European lessees must have a class A license which enables the holder to drive motorcycles unrestricted displacement and power. The international driver’s permit must be equivalent to driving unrestricted displacement and power. The lessee’s driver’s license must be presented to Motorbike Rent’s employee before the initiation of rental and will be photocopied and kept by Motorbike Rent during the duration of rental.
Duration of rental: The minimum duration of rental is 1 day= 24hours. If the lessee delays to deliver the motorcycle he will be charged 5€ extra for every hour of delay.
Insurance: All rental prices include simple liability insurance. The lessee is responsible for any damage or theft (partial or total ) caused to the rented motorcycle up to the amount of market value at the time of the accident or theft. The lessee must pay the amount resulting from the loss of the rented motorcycle or the amount that has resulted from the damage of the motorcycle to Motorbike Rent.
Security free (CDW): By paying an additional amount of 10€ a day the lessee can avoid the compensation of any amount up to 250€ that may be caused to the motorcycle during the rental of the motorcycle by the lessee. This amount does not include damages that are made to the bottom of the motorcycle, the tires, rims and exhaust.
Theft insurance: The lessee can apply theft insurance at an additional cost.
Please read carefully: Insurance Coverage does NOT include the following.
Whatever occurs by the lessee and he/she is found under the influence of alchohol or drugs.
Damage that is caused to the motorcycle by unpaved roads.
Damage that occurs to the bottom of the motorcycle, tires, rims and exhaust.
Accidents caused by a driver that Motorike Rent has not declared in the rental agreement.
If the lessee is engaged in an accident and has not submitted an accident report to the greek legislation and has not informed Motorbike Rent.
Personal,travel, accident and medical insurance.
Fuel: Fuel costs are borne solely by the lessee. The lessee must return the motorcycle with a full tank as received in the beginning ot the retal period.
Road Assistance: Free 24hour road assistance is given all over Greece. (Apart from a few islands)
Damage warranty: Motorbike Rent will ask for a security bond at the time of rental. The lessee must ensure that the amount will be available in their credit for all the duration of the rental. This amount is returned interest free to the lessee at the end of the rental period upon the delivery of the motorcycle to Motorbike Rent and after the motorcycle has been inspected and all terms of this agreement have been abided by the the lessee.
Reservations and Cancellations: A 20% reservation deposit by the lessee is needed to reserve a motorcycle for rent. In the case of cancellation the deposit is not refundable.
Collection and Delivery of a rented motorcycle: Collection of the motorcycle occurs at the premises of Motorbike Rent during business hours. Pick up after business hours and on holidays is possible only by prior agreement between the lessor and the lessee with additional cost. The return of the rented motorcycle outside Motorbike Rent Headquarters is possible only by prior agreement between the lessor and the lessee with additional cost and only if the motorcycle is clean for inspection.
Traffic Violations and Fines: The lessee is obliged to pay any fines that he/she is faced with during the period of motorcycle rental. Even in the case where the lessor is informed of these violations after the motorcycle has been delivered, Motorbike Rent has the right to deduct these amounts from the lessee.
Kilometers: The rental of a motorcycle from Motorbike Rent allows the lessee a total of 250 kilometers per day of rent. If the amount of kilometers travelled exceed the limit then the lessee will need to pay an additional 0,20€ per kilometer travelled beyond the limit. This will be determined by the indications of the odometer of the motorcycle at the point of collection and on the point of return.
Safety : A helmet is provided free of charge to the lessee.
The motorcycle rented may be driven only by the person stated in the agreement with Motorbike Rent.
The lessee is not allowed to use the rented motorcycle in races, wheelies, unpaved roads, sand, rocky abnormal roads.
The lessee must lock the motorcycle’s steering handle bar and apply the disc lock to the wheel’s disc (this will be provided to the lessee by Motorbike Rent) whenever left unattended.
It is the lessee’s obligation to check the motorcycle’s oil , water and tires so as to guarantee efficient operation.
In the case of mechanical damage the lessee must immediately inform Motorbike Rent.
In the case of no return of the motorcycle and abandonment of use, the lessee will be charged with all the costs of damage of the motorcycle or replacement of the motorcycle if needed despite insurance cover.
It is the lessee’s responsibility to deliver the rented motorcycle to Motorbike Rent in the original proper condition as received upon this agreement.
In the case of an accident: The lessee must follow the following steps.
1. The lessee must immediately inform Motorbike Rent.
2. The lessee must inform the insurance company of the rented motorcycle.
3. The lessee must write down name, surnames, addresses of witnesses and those involved in the accident.
4. The lessee must not recognize or take into consideration any third party claims.
5. The lessee must call the police at this number 100.
The lessee agrees that the company Motorbike Rent is not responsible for any incidental or consequential damage suffered by the lessee or third party-ies during the rental and no claim may be brought against Motorbike Rent in the case of the above actions.
It is agreed that for any dispute arising in connection with this motorcycle rental agreement, Greek law and jurisdiction of Greek courts are competent.
